Gallup to Sacramento/Modesto. Spent the night at home while truck windshield was repaired. Then it was off to Salinas area. I love some things about picking up in the salad bowl. I think it is the fact it is close to home; however, what I hate about it is the really slow loading. I was supposed to be loaded on the 20th but they did not finish loading me until the 21. LATE on the 21st. Rather than take that load to Houston, which was due on the 23 at 7:30 AM, it was repowered from me in Gila Bend, AZ. I took an empty trailer, traveled back to CA and picked up a beef load bound for TX. Yes you read that right. Beef from CA going to TX. In reality I think it is beef from Mexico, processed in the US, going to TX. So I am to be in San Antonio on Monday. I have to drive 614 miles tomorrow, then 316 miles early Monday morning to arrive at HE Butt by 10:30 AM
Can anyone who reads this please email me any questions I should ask before signing the owner/operator agreement at Stevens. Yes it is a business and therefore some risk, but they have structured the deal in such a way to reduce the risk as much as possible. Anyone's thoughtful input would be appreciated.
